One of my good friends is terribly keen on Sylvia Townsend Warner, a witty queer woman of great incisiveness. In deference to her, therefore, I must recommend you 'Lolly Willowes', STW's somewhat sarcastic novel about an independent spinster and witchcraft, written decades before the public emergence of Wiccan revivalism in Britain. It's really quite good.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
