Ooh, that sounds really intriguing, thank you so much for the rec! If you like SF/F by authors with actual historical credentials, you might well get on with Mary Gentle. Something like Rats and gargoyles might be a place to start. It's a very complex book, not easily accessible, at least partly because the whole mindset of the book is very much historical rather than modern, but I think rewards the effort.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
