During the book I read the Marit/Three Seagreass fight as arising from Marit's sensitivity to Teixcalaanli attitudes towards Lsel "barbarians", with Reed being unable to quite escape them despite her best efforts. By the end I wondered if it was really Marit's last-ditch attempt to hold onto her Lsel identity. That's rather unfair on Reed, of course, since she really isn't the problem.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
